ASBA is a bold and ambitious organisation. We don’t just have goals – we have a vision for a better world. Below you can download an infographic with our full list of objectives, as described in the ASBA Constitution.
Here’s a summary of our goals:
- to create “A New Australian Sauna Culture” by spreading knowledge of sauna across the Australian public, in all states and territories
- to create a national network of sauna enthusiasts
- to host regular public sauna events
- to encourage the building of more home saunas and home steam rooms, and to provide free advice where possible
- to lobby for the construction of more public saunas and steam rooms around Australia, including not-for-profit community bathhouses
- to build a national headquarters in the form of an epic public bathhouse
- to encourage the creation of local and regional sauna associations across Australian cities and towns
- to improve the quality of existing saunas and steam rooms in gyms and hotels around Australia
- to promote the health benefits of sauna bathing
- to promote the social benefits of sauna bathing
- to promote and conduct medical research around sauna, and to offer evidence-based medical advice where possible
- to promote and conduct technical research around sauna, including the development of full national guidelines
- to promote and conduct social research around sauna, in order to understand and improve the growing national sauna culture
- to link Australia with the global sauna community as national representative in the International Sauna Association (est. 1956).
